Never take meeting notes again.
MuteNote listens to your calls from your laptop and writes it all down: what was said, what got agreed, and what you promised to do. You get to be in the conversation instead of typing through it.
Sound familiar?
Every call leaves something behind.
“Sorry, can you repeat that? I was writing down the last bit.”
“That’s not what we agreed.”
“Wait, when did the client ask for blue?”
“Someone had a great idea about forty minutes in. Who was it?”
“Why is there an AI notetaker in this call?”
MuteNote keeps the whole call, so none of these come up again.
Whoever you are
Same call. Pick your seat.
Leave every meeting knowing who owes what.
Every agreement links back to the moment it was said, so “I never agreed to that” is over in ten seconds.
- Take it into client calls without a bot tagging along.
- Ask months of calls one question: “What did we promise Acme?”
- Your recordings stay on your laptop.
Agreed
Who’s doing what
Listen properly. MuteNote takes the notes.
It catches the moment your name comes up and writes down what you said you’d do, and by when.
- Your to-dos arrive with dates on them.
- Missed something? Ask, and jump straight to that moment.
- Your recordings are yours. Nobody else can open them.
Yours
What exactly did Ama want in the Q1 numbers?
Revenue by region, and the churn figure split by plan. She said the board will ask about the Lagos office first.
Never argue about what the client said.
Their feedback, word for word, with the minute they said it. When the brief changes, you can play it back.
- Feedback turns into a revision list you can tick off.
- Approvals keep their timestamp: “Yes, go with version two” at 31:12.
- Ideas from a brainstorm don’t vanish when the call ends.

What did Dana say about the fonts?
She likes the serif for headings but wants something plainer for body text, “nothing that looks like a wedding invite”.
Off the record
Muted means off the record.
Say what you really think while you’re muted. Google Meet keeps your microphone open the whole time, so anything recording on your laptop would normally catch it. MuteNote leaves those moments out of your notes.
Why it sticks
Set it up once. Forget it’s there.
Notes ready before your next call
A 57-minute call, written up 35 minutes after hanging up, on a 2020 laptop. No upload, no waiting in a queue.
Works with the calls you already have
Meet, Zoom, Teams, Slack huddles, Webex. Nothing to install in the call, nothing for anyone else to accept.
Speaks your language
Talk in French, get French notes. Or Swahili, Portuguese, Japanese; 99 languages in all.
Ask your calls anything
“What did Dana say about the fonts?” You get the answer and a link to the moment she said it.
Flag the good bits
Hit one button when something matters and it’s marked in your notes.
Privacy
Your calls stay on your laptop.
Your recordings stay on your laptop. To write the notes, MuteNote sends the transcript text, never the audio, to the AI you pick: MuteNote’s own notes service, a model running on your laptop, or your own Claude or Codex account. Choose the local model and nothing leaves at all.

Questions
Before you download.
Will people on the call know I’m recording?
MuteNote doesn’t join the call, so it won’t announce itself. Recording laws differ by country, and many places need everyone’s consent, so tell people you’re taking notes. Most are glad someone is.
Is it really free?
Recording, transcripts and notes from your own AI are free with no limits. During early access, free accounts also get a few hours a month of notes written by MuteNote. No card needed. After that, recording and transcripts stay free; Pro adds notes written for you by the best Claude model, 15 hours of meetings a month (Pro Plus: 60), with no AI setup.
Do I need a powerful computer?
No. An ordinary laptop works. One with a graphics chip writes your notes faster, and one without gets there more slowly.
Does it work with my Bluetooth headset?
Yes. Headsets switch modes when a call starts and can drop out for a second; MuteNote notices, reconnects, and you still get one complete recording.
I mute in Zoom or Teams, not Meet. What then?
Use the Mute button in MuteNote. It mutes your mic for the call and the recording together. For Google Meet, the Chrome extension follows Meet’s own mute button.
When is it coming to Mac and Windows?
Linux is ready today. Mac and Windows are next.
What happens to my transcript when MuteNote writes the notes?
MuteNote’s notes service passes the transcript text to Anthropic’s Claude, which writes the notes and sends them back. We don’t store or log the transcript, and the audio never leaves your laptop. Anthropic may keep it for up to 30 days under its API terms. If you’d rather nothing left your laptop, pick a local model in Settings.
Can Claude or Codex read my calls?
If you want them to. Connect it once and ask Claude or Codex about any past call.
